Open Settings, then Quran translation, and choose a language, then a translator. English, French, Indonesian and Turkish are included. The others download once, then stay available offline.

Yes. The Arabic text, the included or already downloaded translations, prayer times and the Qibla work offline. Only downloading a new translation needs a connection.

In Search, type a word in Arabic, with or without vowel marks, or in your translation, a surah name, or a reference such as 2:255. Search also covers the translators’ notes and works offline.

In the reader, open the reading settings: one slider sets the size of the Arabic text, another the size of the translation, with a live preview.

In Prayers, open the calculation settings to choose your community’s method among the 12 offered, then adjust each prayer by a few minutes if needed.

Check that notifications are allowed for Ilham in your phone’s settings. Reminders are scheduled for seven days: open Ilham at least once a week to renew them.

Ilham follows the Umm al-Qura calendar. If your community starts the month on local moon sighting, shift the date by one day in the calculation settings.

Hold the phone flat, away from metal objects and magnets, and allow location. If the app asks, move the phone in a figure eight to calibrate the compass.
